Tax Law Defense

Civil

Sometimes the federal government seeks to collect unpaid taxes by filing a federal civil law suit. Because of our experience and knowledge of tax law and federal litigation, we are an ideal law firm to defend your interests. We are able to practice in the U.S. Tax Court as well as a variety of federal district courts.

Collections

The IRS has a number of ways it goes about seeking to collect unpaid or past due taxes it has assessed against individuals and businesses, including levies and liens.

A tax levy is an administrative action by the IRS to seize property to satisfy a tax liability. The IRS can levy wages, bank accounts, social security payments, accounts receivables, insurance proceeds, real property, and, in some cases, a personal residence.

A tax lien is a lien imposed on property to secure the payment of taxes. Tax liens may be imposed for delinquent taxes owed on real property or personal property.

Altman Law has dealt with the IRS in many collection cases and we have been able to greatly reduce and sometimes eliminate the amounts that have been assessed against our clients. Levies and liens impose a heavy burden on people as it affects their income and the marketability of their assets.

If you are facing federal tax levies or liens call Altman Law immediately so we can help you quickly resolve these matters.
